One of the dopest tracks I've received all year is definitely
The Joy by
Joy Jones. Imagine some gospel feel, throw on some dope afro-beats, subtle soulful organ tones, with a helping of Jazz and you'll get maybe half of this song. London based Joy Jones is going to drop
Godchild in June (which is way too long to wait!). You can probably put that album on replay for your Summer and Fall to say the least. It's going to be amazing and the music she's worked so hard on brings me hope in a place where music has turned into junk! It's gonna take you to another level. Check out
Beautiful on her myspace...it's soo good.
In her own words, here's an excellent description of what you can expect: "...
This is a labor of love and I hope that it translates and transforms into a tool for change. This journey to LP has largely been due to divine choreography, fabulous blessings and good folks. I am constantly amazed at the trajectory."
