I don't know about you, but I'm getting pretty bored of watching films the traditional way, in a theater, in the dark, just well, staring. For those of you who are getting antsy like me, there's a pretty cool event to check out called
Cinema 16 that pairs short films with contemporary musicians playing live original music. It's going on April 19th at Bell House in Brooklyn, NY and I hear there's a complimentary Red Stripe happy hour going on as a nice lil perk.
The show features curated short films from artists like Joel Schelmowitz with performances from experimental artists like Brooklyn musician and singer
Julianna Barwick, (and also Parts & Labor guitarist)
Sarah Lipstate performing to her own short films.
Either way, if you're feeling antsy, curious or just craving some community art revival in your soul check it out. I'll be there.
