Ra Ra Riot are Milo Bonacci, Alexandra Lawn, Wesley Miles, John Pike, Mathieu Santos, and Rebecca Zeller. I recently received a copy of their first full length
The Rhumb Line released on
Barsuk Records (Death Cab For Cutie, Rilo Kiley, Mates of State). Rolling Stone gave the album a 4 star review. Before I had my own copy I had heard a few tracks and thought it was good. But when I had the chance to sit down and listen to The Rhumb Line in its entirety, I wanted more. It's one of those albums where you can be driving or sitting or doing whatever it is that you do, and just listen to it the whole way through. The album brings a diverse arrangement of sounds and instruments from the bass and cello driven track "Ghost Under Rocks" and the intricately layered "St. Peter's Day Festival". Ra Ra Riot's combination of elements from new wave and classic indie pop come together to deliver something quite pleasing to the ears.
Ra Ra Riot is on tour now until May! Select shows with Tokyo Police Club, Death Cab For Cutie, Cold War Kids, and Matt Costa. To see the complete tour listing click
