
Recently we've had the pleasure of checkin' out a performance from singer-songwriter Robert Choy aka
Big Phony. I'd say his stage presence was rather. At first he gave off this really funny feeling of depression and emo-ness, yes I said funny. It was sad and hopeful, but soon as a song would begin he justified it all with pure skillful guitar talent. Not to mention great story telling in his songwriting.
Big Phony has an all around great acoustic sound with that little tiche of folk that often reminds me of one of our favorites, The New Amsterdams, during Matt Pryor's
prime. Robert travels to and fro NY and LA which means if you're at either, you can catch a show! BP's got two albums out: Straight to Boot Leg and Smoking Kills. Get those
