I think singer-songwriter Silje Nes is a perfect fit for Brighton's FatCat Records. She's recently released her full length debut, Ames Room, and the digital only EP Yellow, with songs she recorded in her own home between 2004-07. Her sound is nothing short of eclectic pieces with very subtle vocals and instruments including various percussions, cellos, a glock and melodica. It's very easy to listen to with melodies comparable to some of my favorite Japanese solo works. The multi-instrumentalist is currently on a short tour including the Kongsberg Jazzfestival. We got two songs, one off of each release!
