If It Ain't Fresh!!!....

Friday, March 07, 2008

What's up everyone! It's Fresh Music Friday! Not all these songs are brand new, but they might be to you. I'm gunna give you some of the bands that have been on rotation in our office. Some Hip Hop, some indie, and stuff inbetween! I'm ultra sad that I couldn't go to SXSW. Almost every band on planet earth is there! But if you're like me, stuck at work and other things, you still need to hear some new music. So without further ado...Let's keep it fresh!

These guys are playing a sold out show at the Wiltern on Monday night here in LA and I just wanted refresh your memories in case you forgot! More Tour here.
Explosions In The Sky - Welcome, Ghosts

Matt Pryor is touring at the New Amsterdams! What?!!? Yea it's on. The acousticy, indie folkers
Check out the dates for that here. This track is off At The Foot of My Rival.
The New Amsterdams - Dear Love

Jules De Martino and Katie White are The Ting Tings. Together they match catchy indietronic and we got their new single for you.
The Ting Tings - Great DJ

This is a mashup...or "mosh op" as the English would say!
Justice vs. Soulwax - Disco Sirens

April 22nd will mark the release of Tokyo Police Club's first LP. Here is the track single off the new Elephant Shell album.
Tokyo Police Club - In A Cave

Something to dance to this weekend when you're dancing alone with the headphones on!
The Teenagers - Starlett Johanssen (Rory Mix)

Boston's Akrobatik has a new album with a lot of collaborators on the tracks including Talib Kweli and Chuck D.
Akrobatik - Be Prepared

These guys have been around since I was born (nearly). Jersey's Yo La Tengo, my guess, is they are coming out with a new album! We got an oldie goods for you.
Yo La Tengo - Simple Eyes

This is what music woulda sounded like in high school, of course if we had pop beats. They're loud and here to have lots of fun (the ridiculous kind)! Team Genius is touring around NY. Catch'em all!
Team Genius - Sing Song

The Mercury Program is one of my favorite post-rock instrumental bands who haven't been doing everything except making more music and touring. I dig these guys and I was just recently reminded of their past awesomeness so here's a track off their All The Suits Began To Fall Off EP.
The Mercury Program - Marianas

Our friend Emi Meyer recorded this Live at the Hotel Cafe here in Los Angeles a few years back and I think you need to listen to it now!
Emi Meyer - Dear John

Okay hope y'all enjoy that variety! Have a safe and rad weekend!
