An International, Yet Cozy Feel
Wednesday, December 05, 2007
Something about autumn fading and winter slipping slowly into our atmosphere makes one feel somewhat needy of something cozy, warm, and maybe just a tad different. Personally, I've lately been wallowing in the beautiful sounds of the recently released Beirut album, The Flying Club Cup as well as the Elephant Gun EP.
I've also been rather enjoying the out-of-OC feel of one of the influences to this new release, Jacques Brel's Quand On N'a Que L'Amour, originally released in 1957. Enjoy this little taste of art mimicking art, as well as something different and out of your day-to-day environs.
Forks and Knives (La Fete) (Beirut)
La Bourree du Celibataire (Jacques Brel)
Le Moribonde (Beirut cover of a Jacques Brel song)
