Seattle's Blue Scholars Anounce 2 New EPs!

Monday, October 22, 2007

I was exposed to hiphop in high school and since then I couldn't ever listen to the radio garbage gangster rap ever again. The "it has a good beat" just does not cut it for me. We listened to the likes of Planet Asia, High & Mighty, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Heiroglyphics, Tribe, Beat Junkies, De La Soul, Pete Rock, Company Flow, MF Doom, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, J5, Dilated Peoples, etc. etc. It's struggling now as the big shows don't give much room for new artists; Just a bunch of struggling acts with much much talent.

One such talent is Seattle's Blue Scholars who've been up since '02. Through a thriving underground hiphop scene in Seattle and nearby Portland to a much talked about prevalent duo on the net & print, Geologic and Sabzi are exposing ears to a serious scenery of hip hop. I always say intelligent rhymes can't be touched by money, scandalous women and looking really "cool" at a club. Rawkus Records, who are responsible for lots of disctractions from studying, went into a joint venture in 2007 with MassLine Media to release BS's latest summer drop, "Bayani" album. MassLine was started by Sabzi, Geo and some friends in '06. Not a bad start. The Joe Metro EP comes out soon (end of the month) so be lookin' out and the Butter&Gun$ EP will be out before the New Year. Check more News including the Program. Support your Local Hip Hop!
