Just yesterday in the car we were talking about my favorite bands from high school. One of the bands that really got me into music was
Jimmy Eat World. They have been one of my favorites for a long time but not a hardcore fan with only seeing them perform live 6 times. Take it back: High school, Sophomore year, my first song I heard was Blister from
Clarity album which was arguably their
best. I would later receive that album as a gift from a good friend. I was hooked as I quickly discovered
Static Prevails. These songs are backgrounds to a lot of memories and feelings, you all know what I mean! They would go on to make two more albums with a consistent sound balancing rock and a softer side which gained my attention early on.
About 3 years later, JEW is back with
Chase This Light dropping on October 16th with a full tour kickin'-off at the
Prochnow Auditorium in Flagstaff. The New album has that same poppy-ness of Bleed America accompanied by lots of guitar shreds. And of course the inevitable radio-fever songs for the masses including the emotional feeding for 12 year old girls, but still gotta love them. For more go
here and
here. Check out the single now!
My other older favs: Saves The Day, Get Up Kids, Julianna Theory, etc....
