MacGyver Says: The Deadly Syndrome!

Thursday, September 06, 2007

What do you get when you combine a piece of foil, a paper clip, and a rubberband? If you were MacGyver you'd probably have a weapon of mass destruction or an airplane or something. So what does that have to do with music? Absolutely nothing. What I do know is that when you combine folky guitar & piano elements, punchy dance beats, and 5 million pounds of raw energy and funness, you get The Deadly Syndrome! They are a four piece from Los Angeles just picked up by Dim Mak Records. Dig their sound, it'll be sure to make you smile!

Here are a few tracks:

I Hope I Become A Ghost
The Ship That Shot Its Selef
The Ship That Shot Its Selef (Remix)

Check out more on their myspace page!
Be sure to listen to Emily Paints, and Eucalyptus.

Their Record, "The Ortolan", hits September 11th. They are playing a record release show this Saturday at the echo! Also, this show is free! It's five bucks if you're under 21. Zorry kids. Bring your Ghosts! If you can't make it this Saturday you can catch them in Santa Barbara on the 12th, Cafe Du Nord in S.F. on the 13th, or at the L.A. Weekly Detour Festival on October 6th!

Stay Classy.
