Of all the productive things that made today great, these guys topped it for me. Probably one of the best composition of sounds I have heard in a long time, and if you don't know by now, I love bands that can pull off cross over clashing combinations of genres from song to song.
Mr. Hudson & The Library have quickly become one of my favorites.
Their debut album, "
A Tale Of Two Cities" is off the
Deal Real Records label. The name of the album was inspired by the origins of the band members, Some are from Birmingham and some are from London. Nice and Easy. The album came out over 6 months ago (man I'm losing it!) and they are currently touring. They've opened for Erykah Badu, Amy Whinehouse, and Groove Armada to name a few.
They have 80s influences, mixed with synths, drum machines, a little jazz, and a whole bunch of subtle lyrics over beats with a little dance. Underlined indie rock harmonies with R&B pop some-a-some. Another Heavy rotation, and an album definitely worth pickin' up! First enjoy these tracks and you'll know exactly what I mean.
By the way, who do you think they sound like? Leave us a Comment!
