The Flying Club Cup

Monday, September 24, 2007

Beirut is the capital, largest city, and chief seaport of Lebanon; Beirut the place that is.

Beirut the band on the other hand, is fronted by 21-year old Zach Condon who’s music was heavily influenced by balkan gypsy music, eastern europe and other various folk-pop sounds. The eclectic collage of instruments give the music an old country feel, delivering songs that make you want to smile for no reason. Condon has been writing music for about 6 years and is about to release his second full length album, “The Flying Club Cup”, that hits shelves October 9th! You can pre-order it through newburycomics here.

Some tracks from the upcoming album:

A Sunday Smile
Nantes

Oldies but goodies:

Elephant Gun
Postcards From Italy

And so it is.
