Oh the weather is nice and hot now. Chillin' at the beach yesterday was very nice. I had some
Egyptian food yesterday at a friend's Grad party. His family was there and it was the most Egyptians I've seen outside of Discovery Channel's special on
Cairo! We are working on a summer music podcast, or just mix. We've been listenin' to a lot of instrumentals and gettin' back to electronic. Whether you're in summer school, full timin', vacay, or straight bummin' it, here's a really good mix of hiphop, instrumentals, downbeat, bossa, indietronic, and acoustic.
Last night she was Live at the El Ray Theater bustin' some remixes and recent albums. She's one of the top Bossa Nova artists and needless to say is runs in the
family.
An older instrumental hiphop track off of Tony Simon's sophomore "Downtown Science" of the
Ninjatune label.
Sweet Indie-tronic from their 05' release "Datarock Datarock"...This Norwegian duo serves it up dancey.
June's
Spaceland residents playing free on Mondays! Check out this catchy electronic tune.
Off his upcoming "Finding Forever" album droppin' July 31st. Kanye produced this track.
An oldie, but totally awesome, I loved these guys in the 90s
This Tuesday, The Procession and Castledoor will be playing at Spaceland, I am totally digging both of these piano rockin' tracks.
She's done stuff with Elton, Sheryl Crow, and Rufus W. to name a few. Joan Wasser the violinist and sing-songwrite with her band.
Rock-hoppin sample infused straight out of the Chicago indieground.
Breakbeat downtempo grooves from 06's "Days to Come"
I think Los Campesinos means "Country folks" in Spanish. I love the girl/guy vocals from this U.K group. Makes everything so much fun. The awesome indiepopness is droppin' by the U.S. for a couple shows in August but none on the Westcoast =( pooey.
I really like this style of singing, reminds me of the "NEW" 70s chillrock.
One of my older favorite shoe-gazers! This song goes great to a backdrop of summer.
She reminds me of Tilly & the Wall, whom I dig. She also sings for
Cryptacize, they are awesome too.
Acoustic Live version of a great song
Last summer's "This Vital Chapter" from the Aussie indie poppers.
More shoegazey dream folk pop, with Goswell's vocals.
The couple duet have a new album as of April on the Merge label called " Night of the Furies" which is more dancier, more poppier, and subliminal.
First single from "Room on Fire"..it's the Oberserver single!
This guy used to be in hardcore bands...hard to imagine unless you've heard of him. This one is from "Walking Concert", another one of his projects.
Our new buddies at
Stones Throw Records sent us this awesome track from "Yesterday's Universe" which appears to be all Madlib produced with fictional
names/aliases. But from all the new hiphop he's producing, it's super awesome to hear stuff like this jazz drumbeat stuff.
